Lamp posts obscured by overgrown trees
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 17:08, Mon 17 July 2017
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 year, 3 months, 1 week, 1 day, 20 hours, 32 minutes later
The cinder track that links Peachcroft Road to Charney Avenue is not overlooked by dwellings and is rather secluded. Consequently in autumn/winter months it is imperative the street lights shine onto the track for safety. Many of the street lights along this track are covered by overgrown trees - light 5 is particularly bad.

Many thanks for bringing this to our attention, I will raise column 6 with our highway team to have a look and rectify, column 5 unfortunately is blocked by a private tree so I will have to send out a letter to the resident to look at removing the problem area

Whilst the trees obscuring Street light 5 have been cut back the lamp is still blocked by foliage as you approach - this is not safe!
Street light 6 is still not working - this was reported back in July. Now we are approaching darker evenings this is not safe!
Street light 7 is not working - this is not safe!
Nearly all of the lights along the cinder track are either not working or obsured. Please take this issue seriously and sort it out for the safety of everyone using the path!

Thank you - street light 6 and 7 have been reported as out of light on our management system. Our current policy is for our contractor to attend electrical & structural emergencies as a priority; these will be attended within a 24hr period. All other faults are logged on our management system, for efficiency, these are grouped by area and the date they were reported, and the contractor attends against a programmed of works based on this approach. The tree issue has been passed to the inspector to investigate further.

This is getting beyond a joke - you have now had 5 months in which to ensure this alley is safe for pedestrians. There are two issues:
1. Street lights not working 2. Foliage overhanging high level (making it dark) and low level (restricting the path width and creating a trip hazard)
The tree team are not going to fix broken street lights and the lighting team are not going to deal with the foliage issue. Both teams need to work together to ensure the alley is safe.
This alleyway is an accident waiting to happen!!!!
