Trees are excessively tall, hanging into footpath & blocking sky signal

Reported anonymously at 19:00, Thu 18 August 2022

My sky dish signal is now being completely blocked by the overgrown trees on the footpath to the side of my home. They are also blocking the DAB signal to my radio. I cannot get any Sky channels at all, I have spoken to Sky and they have confirmed that the trees are causing the issue, I have looked at moving the dish however everywhere the signal is blocked by the trees. I am now paying for a service I cannot use due to these trees belonging to the council. I spoke to neighbours who told me that they belong to the council, they are on a strip of land 1 ft wide owned by the council. In the last 7 yrs the trees have never been cut back and kept at a reasonable height they have just kept growing. They are now much taller than the buildings which is a concern in itself and there is Leylandii too. There are drains running along the footpath for the properties, these could be damaged by the roots for the trees which must be quite large by now as well. The street light along the footpath is now coming on around an hour earlier and staying on longer than the others nearby due to the light being blocked by the trees, sections of the trees that are overhanging the footpath and tall people are having to duck to get around them, people are breaking bits off to get past without being hit in the face. Part of the trees higher up has grown quite a way across the footpath and is getting close to the building of flats. At the top of the footpath where it joins the road the tree is growing into the walkway of the footpath there are also sharp broken off branches. Please can you let me know what you plan to do and when you will do something about this. Also emailed to OCC.
