Road marking no longer clear. Cars parked in turning point.

Reported anonymously at 14:55, Monday 15 August 2022

The ‘No parking’ sign has over time become very unclear meaning that people don’t see if and park there. It is at the end of a dead end. This makes it very difficult for us to get into our drive way. The original intention for the area with the two parked cars will have been as a turning point for vehicles using the road as it is a dead end and there is only just enough room to two cars to pass. However, there are nearly always cars parked there. I believe this has been exacerbated by the fact that over the past few years the two properties no. 4 and no. 5 have both been turned into HMOs and whilst there is parking at the front this is not adequate for the six people that inhabit each property (therefore a potential of 12 additional cars) without blocking each other in, which I can understand why they would not want to do. It is a shame that the council did not consider the parking situation and impact on local residents and their visitors when allowing these properties to become HMOs particularly considering the access to these two properties is by a single track path. It should be noted that there are plenty of additional spaces for people to park at the entrance to Northcourt Walk under the trees. At minimum, it would be very beneficial to have the ‘No parking’ marking clearly rewritten to discourage parking there to enable us to get into and out of our driveway safely.
