Following up on collapsed pipe in front of 5 Spring Rd due to previous pavement works Reported anonymously at 12:32, Sat 11 June 2022 We previously reported this problem on 25 April and were told that the issue is not the responsibility of the Council. We contacted our Councillor, Neil Fawcett, who recommended we get in touch with Thames Water. Thames Water came just now to survey the issue and said that the pipe in question is absolutely not their asset, that the pipe doesn't connect directly to a drain (it connects to a road gulley, which is a Council responsibility; and, even, if it did connect to a blocked drain, it is Thames Water's opinion that it would be a Council responsibility), and that the problem is definitively a Council issue. The engineer on site conducting the inspection confirmed all this with a Thames Water manager. The reference number for the case with Thames Water is SA-352733. Additionally, please see attached several photos of the areas surveyed by the engineer during his site visit this morning (the yellow dots were painted by him to show where the tunnel is, and that the blockage is in between these two points). Please let us know how the Council intends to deal with this ongoing matter that is negatively affecting multiple properties on Spring Road.
