50 limit sign on Northern Bypass Reported anonymously at 18:00, Friday 25 March 2022 At the bottom of Stoke Place on the edge of the A40 (Northern Bypass) is a ‘50’ mph sign. It is supposed to illuminate or flash when passed by traffic travelling above the speed limit. It hasn’t worked for a long time and it might slow some of the many vehicles passing at speeds well above the limit. Larger signs on both sides of the carriageway as on the A34 at Botley, travelling north, would be even better.
