SAME AS BEFORE - Surface a danger to cyclists

Reported by Martin Ricketts at 22:02, Friday 24 September 2021

The photo doesn't show the new dip and bump very well, due to the uniform light, but the same problem as reported in 2019 by me and others is back. I would say there is clearly a problem with heavy tractor / trailer units stopping and then restarting on a slight slope with all the force being needed stressing small areas of the road and effectively moving them. If this is the case it cannot be fixed even by digging out an area and putting a new base layer in. The surface needs to be able to transmit the force to somewhere immovable, which is never going to happen with tarmac. My guess would be an area of concrete needs to be installed ccovering many square metres to spread the load. But I'm not a road engineer; please consult one.
