Roadside notice on length of disruption missing. Faulty traffic lights Reported anonymously at 17:42, Sun 5 September 2021 There are bound to plenty of roadworks along Abingdon perimeter road in the coming months. Posting this so can avoid repeat of problem there is early Sept 2021 at Radley Road -Twelve Acre Junction. 1. Please could notices be put up on approach roads advising of length of delay. Then people could plan when they leave and use other routes if they don't want to wait in a queue. 2. Over the last few years temporary traffic lights have often failed 'out of hours' on Radley Road. Even when work is being done they don't always work very well. Are there standards / best practice that could be shared. 3. Particularly when near a roundabout, could shorter stretches of road be worked on at a time, meaning the roundabout would only be affected whilst work closet the junction was done. 4. When it is a main road like this, if work was started on a Monday maybe it could be finished by Friday. Could contracts ensure people worked over the weekend, even if only to fix the lights.
