Rainwater pools on the sunken road rather than flowing into drain gulley, causing damage to adjacent private property.

I have been trying to get this problem fixed since 2002! For the third time since then, I am about to pay hundreds of pounds to have the brickwork and woodwork at the front of my property (a listed building) repaired for the water damage it causes. The road surface has sunk below the level of the gulley, so rainwater always pools rather than flowing away. Every vehicle that passes then soaks the frontage of 12 Shirburn Street, ultimately causing erosion to brickwork and rot to door and window woodwork. Any occupant unlucky enough to open the front door as a vehicle passes gets soaked, as does the hallway of the house. Standing at the front door while unlocking it inevitably results in a soaking. I have in the past urged OCC councillors and officers to address this issue but - despite their promises - nothing has been done. A contractor once sprayed the offending area with paint, but the repair was never carried out.
