West side of Wootton Road floods Reported by Tony Betteridge BEM at 16:02, Tue 6 July 2021 During and following sustained rain, Wootton Road floods on much of its length (on the western, cycleway/footpath side) between the roundabout and Long Tow and especially under the A34 flyover. Because the road is narrow (in relation to the amount and type of traffic it has to carry), vehicles travelling north during flooding cannot take avoiding action by moving out from close to the cycleway because of oncoming traffic from the north and, as a result inadvertently (and sometimes deliberately), give pedestrians and/or cyclists unwanted head-to toe baths - even when the road was "clean", this was unacceptable, but now that there is a building site opposite, the soakings are invariably with muddy water and this is extremely infuriating. Can something please be done about the drainage on the western side of this road, combined with regular cleaning of the mud on the road and the pavement from the building development?
