Blocked soakays from road drains outside Coldharbour Cottage, OX7 5TQ causing flooding on road and in Coldharbour Cottage garden. Reported anonymously at 15:04, Sun 4 October 2020 This was first reported on 18th August but the road is still flooding as a result of blocked soakaways from the road drains located outside Coldharbour Cottage. There are three - one on either side of the road outside Coldharbour Cottage and one 20 metres or so back up the lane on the west side of the road. Water is passing through these road drains although it is backing up and flooding the road. The chamber on the boundary of the garden (located approx 20m from the drains just beyond the end of the wall) is overflowing and the lawn is waterlogged. The soakaway must be blocked, either between the drains and the chamber or beyond the chamber, or both. This is likely with silt which washes down the lane. In addition to rectifying the soakaway problem it may be also an idea to dig trenches in the verge at intervals down the lane to reduce the water and silt flow?
