Dangerous drivers exiting roundabout Woodgreen Avenue

Reported by Charlotte Davies at 20:00, Tue 8 September 2020

1 week ago a driver who was speeding around the roundabout to exit onto Woodgreen Avenue lost control of his car & drove into the back of my car, which was then shunted into the back of my husbands car. Both cars were written off. Last year almost the same thing happened to a neighbour, on the same road. We live in new build houses (built by Cherwell Council) and have only lived here for 18 months. We are surrounded by elderly people living in bungalows & families with small children who struggle to cross the road out side of our house because of the amount of traffic and in some cases the speeds that these cars are doing. There are three other e it’s from this roundabout. One is narrowed to a single lane so people approaching have to give way. The other two both have zebra crossings which makes drivers slow down and helps people to cross safely. Unfortunately, the roundabout is a godsend to the many boy racers in this area & they love to practice their wheel spins on it, daytime as well as nighttime, obviously this is extremely dangerous to pedestrians and has already been very costly to those of us with cars parked in the marked bay in front of our houses. I would like Woodgreen Avenue to be considered for a zebra crossing as an attempt to slow down people travelling around the roundabout, it is not just the racers who speed around it. I believe it is only a letter of time before someone is knocked down or other cars are damaged because of speeding on this part of the road. Thank you
