Will need a severe verge cutting in Sept/Oct (ish) Reported anonymously at 11:06, Tue 4 August 2020 Exit cycle track between Kennington Roundabout and the Kennington Railway bridge. This was fully sided out to its edges of the tarmac about 2 months ago, many thanks. It will need a severe mowing in about September or October, by which time the brambles will be well extended over the track, as well as a lot of vegetation growing through the flat but very cracked tarmac surface. It will need cutting back beyond the edge of the tarmac, as the actual verge has not been cut by OCC/contractors for many years. For about 5 - 6 years I have cut in in winter to the edge of the tarmac only as it had no cut from OCC at all. 18 months ago OCC gave it a cut, but the cutter barely made it to the edge of the tarmac (but quite width of vegetation on the tarmac was mown). Prior to the cut 18 months ago, it had not been cut for quite a number of years, despite adoining areas and the middle of the Kennington Roundabout being mown. See: Fixmystreet report/1777443 fixmystreet report/1160080 fixmystreet report/1370903 If not mown, a lot of autumn leaves accumilate on the tarmac, trapped by all the vegetation growing out of the cracked tarmac. This then makes for a base for vegetation to grow in the following year.
