New LED light shining directly into house windows

Reported anonymously at 12:25, Wed 27 May 2020

Street light at the end of the cul-de-sac has had its light replaced with an LED rather than an orange bulb. The light now casts very direct bright blue-tinted light into house windows during darkness hours. Many of the houses built on this road and others nearby were built with Velux windows in the bedrooms and, as it's impossible to vent fresh air into these rooms during the warmer months without opening the Velux window, this bright LED light flows directly into residential bedrooms at night. Studies show that blue-tinted light is harmful to natural circadian sleep patterns, whereas orange-tinted light (as per the original bulb) is beneficial. Please review the possibility of installing orange lighting back inside this particular streetlamp to avoid the direct casting of over-bright light into neighbourhood bedrooms which cannot be blocked by curtains at night because of their build design.
