Excessive speed past hidden Reported anonymously at 10:14, Wed 6 March 2019 Vehicles driving at excessive speed around a blind corner past hidden turning to Wood Lane/Singe Wood. Vehicles frequently travel at the speed limit (50mph) around the blind corner but this is too fast. There is a major hazard to cars turning into or out of Wood Lane. The problem is exacerbated because Wood Lane slopes down the the main road therefore cars in Wood Lane can easily roll into the main road while waiting to pull out. If this happens it is not possible to recover as this would involve a hill start in reverse and a car would be left stranded in the middle of a blind bend with cars approaching at 50mph! A lower speed limit is appropriate (40mph) together with improved road layout. We should consider traffic lights, calming measures, signage etc. Thanks!
