Ridiculous junction

Reported anonymously at 13:34, Wed 28 November 2018

Coming from the old radcliffe infirmary I spent nearly 50 minutes today at 11:30-12:30 getting over the junction of the A4144 and the end of George St to drive down towards the station. I needed to pick up a parcel at the post office on Oxpens Road. It would have been quicker to walk. There were very slow moving tailbacks all the way up Walton St and also up St Giles. The return journey took about 7 minutes. You need to put in a mini roundabout at that junction to give people coming from the north more time to flow through the junction. Alternatively you need to reinstate the previous junction you had there. It is a disaster for people coming from the north and effectively cuts off access to the post office, the railway station and the shopping centre. Presumably you own the land the car park at the end of George St is situated on so you could use some of that to make the junction larger if necessary.
